I’m eating sultanas and almonds before dinner at Nina and Gregory’s. They’re just on the other side of Broadway but I’m tired and I just got warm after wading home in icy winds and rain, that didn’t so much as fall from the sky as blow up off the wet road in horizontal sheets.
I left my dinner offering of sweets at work and after a call from Greg, I gathered that they may be scrounging the pantry for tonight’s meal. They asked me to bring some bread but I’ve only got a frozen sliced loaf of rye. While offering to bring some wine, I looked in the fridge and saw the kilo bag of snow peas I had found on special at Banana Joe’s. I’m taking them to dinner.
That’s why I’m eating the nuts and the sultanas.
It’s going to be an interesting meeting. I’ll bring my camera.
A bowl of miso soup and a hot shower is what cures post-cold-&-wet-commute blues.
